Our projects
We have a variety of projects: some are regular and have been up and running for the past few years, some exist in our dreams and need a more permanent home in order for us to set them up! All have similar aims: to cut down the damage we're doing to the world; to save money; to stop waste; to bring people together to support each other in hard times; to learn to live differently, developing a community where we share and care for each other and for the earth, without greed, poverty, waste and destruction.

Community meals
Saving waste food and making free, delicious meals
Our community meals are made using food which would have otherwise been thrown away (but is perfectly good). We create something tasty, you come along to eat and chat! The idea is, we stop wasting food and money and get together at the same time. You are very welcome if you can pay nothing, or just a little, or more. Come with a friend, or come on your own and meet new friends.
Sharing hub
Sharing and repairing used clothes, sharing seeds and plants, networking!
Once a month we pull it all together! We have sewing help and clothes repairs; surplus food to give away; a constantly changing supply of good second-hand clothes; a small lunch, usually soup & bread and cake; activities for children; gardening advice and, in the growing season, seeds, plants and produce to share.
Everything is, as usual, free of charge (donations are welcome if you feel able). Stay for the day or drop in for a cup of tea and a quick look round. A great place to meet friends, old or new!

Anti-fast-fashion
We run upcycled clothing fashion shows, and help people repair and alter their clothes
We are passionate about not using "fast fashion" - it has such destructive effects on the natural world and it is frequently a very exploitative industry for those who make the clothes. Added to that. it's a waste of money! We promote repairing clothes; adjusting or updating them; making them from other old outfits; swapping and sharing. We run sessions with sewing help and repairs at our Sharing Hubs, and an annual sustainable fashion show.
Community gardening
Growing food, saving money, less pollution
Growing things is one of life's joys! Growing some food for yourself gives a sense of achievement; saves money; cuts down on pollution caused by commercial growing; and is good for nature too. Doing it as part of a community makes it more fun and strengthens connections between people.
We have been able to do small growing projects here and there but are still looking for a garden "home" of our own, for community use - let us know if you have any suggestions!

Library of things
No need to buy things - borrow them!
Sadly this is still in our dreams, as it requires significant storage space which we simply do not have.We would love to have a permanent centre of our own where we could keep a library of things you might only use occasionally - think hedge trimmer, carpet cleaner, tile cutter.... Wouldn't this be better than 100's of households having these items sitting around, rarely used, while others can't afford to use them?
