We are delighted to announce that we now have a regular venue to hold our seed swaps and we will be running them on the first Saturday of every month starting on the 7th of May. Somers Park Methodist Church have kindly offered to host the event and we will be holding it between 10am to 12pm.
As we head into spring it will be a chance for you to bring along seeds you do not need this season, as well as those seedlings you have grown that you just don't have room for! Then as we head into summer we would also like to combine this event with our veg swapping and ask people to bring along any unwanted crops, or anything you have a glut of, to swap also.
We have been busy growing on some of the seeds we took ourselves from the last seed event, we had some fantastic heritage and organic seeds donated. Among many interesting seeds, we had a Chinese leafy green which we think is called a crown daisy in English, they were generously donated by a local lady who has an Instagram all about her authentic home cooked Chinese food. You can find her @high_queen_chinese_cooking
It is always so exciting to grow something new!
We also had the fantastic news that we received some funding from #FFLGetTogethers which covered the costs of our last event, and has enabled us to develop further and now continue to run this as a regular event. We look forward to seeing you throughout the growing season!
