Fashion show was fantastic!!

Our third sustainable fashion show took place in October and was AMAZING! The show aimed to raise awareness that 'fashion doesn't have to cost the Earth". The audience had a great time, bopping along to the music, cheering the models of all ages/sizes/genders (a number of whom were from this year's Mayor's charity "Cube Youth' ), while also learning about the alarming effect the fashion industry is having on our planet. We also got some funding from Severn Arts to pay for a lovely film of the event. Here's a tiny snippet of it :

The wonderful displays of re-imagined fashion items on the catwalk also included dramatic interludes to raise awareness of the profits made by high street fashion, the use of child labour in the fashion industry and the massive wastage and pollution of “excess clothing”.   The fast-fashion industry creates 10% of all humanity's carbon emissions! (More than all international flights and maritime shipping.) The UK produces the most clothing waste in Europe, and 70% of all the UK’s used clothing is sent overseas, where it often ends up in huge, polluting waste dumps . The message was clear: reduce, reuse, recycle clothing.

This is the 3rd such event and we plan to run one every autumn.
